Hi there,

We keep receiving the MOM alert below, saying how a SQL Server 2000 script
failed to execute. There are 5 similar alerts referring to different scripts
but they all have the same error of "Unable to create automation bject
'SQLDMO.SQLServer'"

We are running MOM 2005 SP1 and SQL 2000 and this box is our global
management server. I have read on other discussion boards about backwards
compatibility but they were running SQL 2005.

Does anyone have any suggestions about how to investigate or resolve this
issue?

Many Thanks
Rebecca

What is your SQL server security set up for? Do built in admins have SA
access or is it locked down? If locked down, have you created a action
account that has been granted SA access or something close to that for your
DB's on this server? If not, and your action account is running as local
system and your SQL DBA's remove built in admins from the SA security group,
then most and possibly all of the SQL scripts from the SQL MP will fail.

Check the permissions and see if that is the issue.

I had this same problem on a server with both SQL 2000 and SQL 2005.
According to PSS, this was a known problem and not going to be fixed.
