Hi Friend,

I am beginner of SCOM. I have SCOM 2007 installed on a SQL 2005 Box (OS =
Win 2003 Server - Ent.)

Can you please guide me how can I create a rule to monitor SQL Server 2005?

Thanks in advance....

Hi Prabhat,

You should import the management pack for SQL. You can download the SQL MP
here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=8C0F970E-C653-4C15-9E51-6A6CADFCA363&displaylang=en

Hi Anders,

Thanks for your reply.
Actually I have imported the MP and installed that.... But I am not aware
how do I monitor the server.

Say situations....
1) I want to know if the server is running or not - Want to create a rule
for this.
2) Say if the Stored Procedure has executed successfully or not?
3) SQL Job has finished successfuly or not....

etc... etc.

Hi Prabhat,

Take a look in the SQL MP Guide, there are information about all default
monitoring, probable all those things are already monitored by the SQL MP.
