Hi,

I'm relatively new to this MOM software and I have a question regarding
Management Packs for SQL.

We use SQL Server extensively on dozens of machines ,but most of them are
testing and development or Support machines. We only have 2 live SQL
Servers. If MOM manages all of the SQL Servers we have running on Windows
Servers (2000 and 2003) I will ge inundated with warnings of stuff that
doesn't interest me.

Is there a way to restrict the server which the SQL MP managers to just our
2 live Server and to ignore the rest. I want other MPs to monitor the other
Servers, I just want the SQL MP to monotor limited servers.

Thanks

John

Hi John,

You can exclude your test and dev SQL machines from the MOM computer group
to only get alerts from your prod machines. You do that in the Administrator
Console under computer groups.

Thanks very much, Anders.

I've added the Dev Servers to the Excluded Computers tab on the properties
of the Computer Groups relating to SQL. Thanks for the Heads Up!
