Hi,
I want to monitor the SQL replication so that whenever replication fails
it will send an alert. if replication fails, it's loging an event in event
viewer. but no alerts are being logged in Alerts view of SCOM server and i am
not getting any alerts.
Please help me..

Hi smeeta,

Have you imported the SQL MP?

If you have, and there still is no alert, then you can create a rule on your
own. But first check the if you have the SQL MP.

Hi Anders,
i have imported the SQL MP. And i am getting alerts for some of the
SQL job failure (related to some other application on that server). but
whenever replication is failing, i am not getting any alert.

should we go for monitor or rule for this?

Thanks,
Smeeta

Hi Anders,
i created an alert generating rule
-In the console, under Authoring, Management Pack Objects, Rules, created a
new rule
- Alert Generating Rules/Event Based/NT Event Log (Alert)
- selected my MP and clicked next
- Input a rule name and chose rule target, clicked next
- input the following expression
eventid equals 208
eventsource equals SQLSERVERAGENT
eventdscription contains "SellKeys" to get the alerts for the failure of
replication related to my application only.
- clicked next and create

is there anything that i am missing here? i am not geeting any clue for
anything wrong here.

Please help me..

Hi smeeta,

Take a look at this and see if it gives you a solution http://contoso.se/blog/?p=250
else try to remove some criterias, and start with only event ID.
