Hello,

I have MOM 2005 and was wondering how I get my SQL servers to use the SQL
MP? I have a couple of servers already listed as having SQL when I look at
the "State" in the operator console but I have a ton of SQL 2005 clusters and
they don't appear. Do I need to add these server to a Computer group? I did
not do this to the others?

Thank you,
Rob

Hi BobbyRugg,

You dont need to do anything more than install agents to all SQL servers.
If you have a cluster you should install agent to all physical nodes and
then your´Microsoft cluster virtual node should show up under pending management,
where you can right-click it and choose to start monitor it.

I found my issue...The State Monitoring and State Discovery part of the
management pack was disabled. Once I enable that all my servers popped in
the list.

Do you know if there is a different license that is used to monitor sql
servers?

Thanks,
Rob

Hi BobbyRugg,

You will need a Enterprise OML lic for your SQL machine. You can read about
the two types of license at http://www.microsoft.com/systemcenter/opsmgr/howtobuy/default.mspx
