Discussion:
Trouble with SQL MP and Active/Active Cluster
(too old to reply)

We have a SQL 2005 Cluster Running Active/Active with 3 instances. 2
Instances are on Server A and 1 Instance on Server B. Each instance is in its
own Resource Group, With 1 Virtual server name setup for each instance.

Mom is reporting errors on the Virtual Servers, for the instances NOT on
that virtual Server. I have included a couple of examples. You can see in the
examples its trying to access the QA instance from the DR Virtual Server.

What do I need to do to correct this?

Hi Dave,

Is MSSQL$QA on you server and is running?

How have you setup MOM? Are you monitoring SQL only on the virtual nodes?
Can you connect to QA from the virtual server manually?

Yes all the instances are running and are accessible via the virtual servers.
SQL itself appears to be working correctly, its just MOM that sees issues.

Sorry Sent before answering everything:
Not sure what you mean by how have you setup MOM?

We are monitoring the virtual names only I believe. I am actually not 100%
we just relied on discovery and manually enabled the virtual servers to be
managed.

Hi Dave,

You can verify which computer groups your machines are members of, take a
look at http://contoso.se/blog/?p=122
