We have three different types of servers (1) Production, (2) UAT and (3)
Development.

I am happy to deploy the standard MOM SQL monitoring to our production
servers, but want to be able to exclude some servers from SQL monitoring.
Our Development servers should have just OS monitoring while UAT need a
custom MP for SQL and OS monitoring.

Since the SQL management packs are sealed it is not possible to set-up
excluded servers, does anyone else have any answer for this?

Hello Tim,

You can override and disable discovery rules for a group, and in that group
include machines that you dont want to monitor the technology on. there is
a command shell command that you also need to run, Remove-DisabledMonitoringObject
